11th Finnish Flame Day (Liekkipäivä) at Isku Center in Lahti
This biennial event is a special forum for both industry and academia in the field of thermal energy science and technology in Finland. This year’s proceedings will be primarily held in English, with Finnish and Swedish presentations as optional. The event will be chaired by Chao He from Tampere University. The theme for this year is:
“Thermal energy in carbon management”
Call for poster abstracts
Deadline has passed for abstract submission.
The 11th Finnish Flame Day will not include technical presentations of research from students and postdocs. For this year, a poster session is organized to encourage free-form discussions. This session allows young researchers to directly network with industry representatives, more senior researchers and other potential future colleagues.
The organizing committee is seeking contributions from students and postdocs in the wide range of topics relating to thermal energy, including but not limited to:
- Waste to energy: Co-combustion and thermochemical conversion technologies
- Bio-energy with carbon capture and storage
- Fuel characterization
- Reaction kinetics in combustion chemistry
- Heterogeneous and spray combustion
- Diagnostic process modeling and optimization
- Emission control and CO2 mitigation
- Ash related phenomena during combustion
- Ash management and utilization
- Digitalization in the power sector
- Co-production of energy carrier, chemicals and materials
- Techno-economic analysis, life cycle assessment of thermal energy systems
- Waste heat recovery technologies
- Policies and strategies analysis under energy transition
The poster abstract should include a maximum of 250 words (excluding possible references and figure/table captions) and can contain in total two figures or tables. The possible reference list should be concise. The abstracts should be written in accordance with the poster abstract template. Please list all authors of the work and their affiliation clearly.
The poster abstract should be submitted as a PDF-file to rasmus.fagerlund@abo.fi.
The abstracts and posters will be available online in FTERA’s document library, if the presenter agrees. The published material on the website will be accessible only for members of FTERA.
